HOW WE WORK
Each item created begins with a sketch. A designer fêted for blending fashion and feminism, Marion Ayonote’s eponymous label is instantly recognisable. Shoe aficionados love her use of striking silhouettes, decorative detailing and playful design – all “wearable and whimsical” in equal measure, to quote the designer herself.
Once Marion wraps the designs and specifications are complete, the colour swatches arrive from the tannery; she styles the collection and sends the information to our respective factories in Italy. For handbags, Marion selects the preferred skin from the technical sheet and decides on the colours and finish. All Hardware is designed in – house and produced in Bologna. More complex designs are developed in 3D.
Development
After the design process is finalised, the initial paper patterns are developed, prototypes or shells are made from Marion Ayonote lasts made in Northampton, England. All modifications require Marion’s full input and at that point a design meeting at the factory in Italy would be scheduled. A second prototype would confirm corrections have been understood. Thereafter, the samples are realised in mock leather to visualise and review the results and finally the 1st set of samples realised as it should look in a store.
Marion’s involvement in every stage of the process ensures the original vision is realised. She is known to make changes as long as necessary to ensure the outcome is up to the highest possible standard. Our Artisans have decades of experience working with some of the most renowned luxury brands, working with some of the best in Industry means that your shoes or handbags have been made by very experienced hands… not to mention a lot of love and passion for the craft.
